Sitting down to a traditional northern meal at Amina’s place means sitting on mats in the ground as food is served out of leaf covered calabash. The warm and entertaining chef Amina kept us chatting and laughing while she shared the her story and got to know us too. She answered questions about the traditional ingredients so I felt like we learned a lot too.

This was a beautiful experience. Amina has a beautiful soul and it was like being with an old friend. We cooked food, went on a market tour, and visited a Shea Butter processing community. The food we cooked was phenomenal. The market tour was so much fun. I got to try so many amazing local foods. I never knew Ghanaians had their own cheese and tofu. The drinks were also fun and different.
