Duduhgu is a culinary and cultural haven nestled in the heart of Choggu, Tamale. Born from the memories of a grandmother’s kitchen and a longing to see the food traditions of Northern Ghana flourish again, Duduhgu began as a simple dream in the heart of our founder, Amina Pagnaa. What started as a deep personal calling has now grown into a purposeful, community-centered space where food becomes a tool for cultural preservation, education, and empowerment.
We celebrate the rich culinary heritage of Northern Ghana by reviving indigenous recipes, using locally grown ingredients, and offering immersive dining and cooking experiences that reconnect people to the land, the people, and the stories that shaped them. Every meal served is a tribute to time-honored wisdom, ancestral knowledge, and the slow beauty of cooking with intention.
But Duduhgu is more than a restaurant—it is a social enterprise, deeply rooted in the values of sustainability, equity, and community care. Every experience you book, every plate you enjoy, and every product you buy directly supports our social impact projects—from feeding children through the Food Bank Tamale, to empowering women and children with traditional craft skills at the Zong Museum, to hosting Kali Bindira Chuɣu, our annual indigenous food festival.
Our model is simple: we grow when our community thrives. All profits go back into running our social initiatives, nurturing our team, sourcing ethically from local farmers, and keeping Duduhgu sustainable—not just as a business, but as a cultural movement.
This is not just about food. It’s about restoring dignity, preserving identity, and planting seeds for future generations—one meal, one story, one experience at a time.

To preserve indigenous food knowledge, reduce food insecurity, and promote sustainable, culturally-rooted nourishment for all.
A thriving future where communities live sustainably, and ancestral food traditions are honored, shared, and protected.
