Kali Bindira Chuɣu – Honoring the Roots of Northern Ghanaian Cuisine

Kali Bindira Chuɣu is an annual festival celebrated in honor of World Food Day, bringing together farmers, cooks, and culture enthusiasts to preserve and promote the rich culinary traditions of Northern Ghana. The festival serves as a vibrant platform to showcase indigenous foods, some of which are at risk of disappearing, while celebrating the deep connection between food, history, and sustainability.

Through engaging cooking competitions, live demonstrations, and interactive workshops, attendees get to experience firsthand the techniques and flavors that have sustained communities for generations. It is a space where knowledge is shared, traditions are honored, and the importance of local food sovereignty is emphasized.
